The new advertising campaign for the Sting 2008 collection by De Rigo Vision is scheduled to start Sunday, April 13. Again this year, the brand that aims mainly at a young target and has a feisty design suited to today’s look, has chosen testimonial Fabio Cannavaro, the captain of Italy’s national soccer team and number one defender for Real Madrid, who is considered to be a true leader with undeniable personality.
The video was filmed in Madrid by Adver Performance. The creative agency that has handled Sting advertising campaigns since 2005 chose a soccer setting to stay perfectly in tune with the reference target and the testimonial. Wearing dark and totally wraparound eyewear from the new Sting collection, in the commercial Cannavaro looks very mysterious and is the sole protagonist shot from various angles.
The De Rigo Group’s well-known brand will appear in a ten-second commercial on the Sky network, the most popular with the reference target and, in particular, with 18- to 34-year-old men and women. Scheduled for the spring, it will be transmitted during the breaks in Italy’s Premier League championship games, the Spanish Soccer League and the finals of the Champions League.
During the first weeks of May, the advertising plan envisages major appearances on some of Sky’s theme channels and on entertainment channels in particular. The commercial will appear around 400 times on the Fox Channel, Fox Life, Fox Crime and E! Entertainment.
The commercial, the payoff “Fabio Cannavaro e Sting, caratteri solari” (the sunny natures of Fabio Cannavaro and Sting) and the exceptional testimonial underscore the models’ very dynamic, strong personality in a lively and attractive style that highlights the wearer’s attitude. |
