Ciba Vision is pleased to announce the introduction to the market of Dailies AquaComfort Plus, an innovative contact lens that significantly changes the concept of comfort for daily lenses. The first and only Ciba Vision lens with the exclusive “Triple Action”, Dailies AquaComfort Plus lubricates, helps to maintain moisture and refreshes the lens for exceptional comfort that lasts all day. With patent registration pending, this new lens contains a lubricating agent for immediate comfort at the start of the day, a hydrophilic agent that helps to keep lenses moist and provide daylong comfort, and a third agent that is blink-activated to refresh the lenses and keep them comfortable all through the day.
With the new Dailies AquaComfort Plus lenses, blinking releases the moisturizing agents that support the action of the lachrymal film to ensure exceptional comfort all day long.
The three agents that make up the “Triple Action” are: Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (HPMC), to lubricate the lens, Polyethylene glycol (PEG), to help maintain moisture, and Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), for daylong freshness. Recent studies have shown that discomfort is a major complaint by contact lens wearers and that 47% give up wearing them because of this. The new Dailies AquaComfort Plus’ triple action guarantees even more daylong comfort than the original Focus Dailies All Day Comfort, so Dailies AquaComfort Plus lenses respond to a major requirement that had not been fully satisfied previously.
Dailies AquaComfort Plus represent CIBA Vision’s constant commitment to innovation in the daily contact lens segment. Clinical studies have demonstrated that lens wearers preferred the new Dailies AquaComfort Plus by 2 to 1 compared to Focus Dailies All Day Comfort for “general preference” and “day-end comfort”. With the launch of Dailies AquaComfort Plus lenses, Ciba Vision has also made some changes to the Dailies brand and product packaging. Dailies AquaComfort Plus has a new packaging and is the first CIBA Vision product with the company’s new logo.
Some technical information about Dailies AquaComfort Plus
The lenses are available with a diameter of 14.0 mm, a base curve of 8.7 mm and they have the Visitint? handling tint that makes insertion and removal easy. The lenses are manufactured with the Lightstream Technology™, a patented production process that ensures excellent quality, the repetition of all parameters, ease of insertion and thin edges for greater comfort.
The vision defects they correct: Dailies AquaComfort Plus will correct myopia and hypermetropia with the following parameters:
• from +0.50D to +6.00D in 0.25D increments
• from -0.50D to -6.00D in 0.25D increments
• from -6.50D to -10.00D in 0.50D increments
Packaging: they are sold in packs of 30 or 90 lenses.
