As only the great creative minds know how, once again Romeo Gigli has reconfirmed his stylistic finesse in his latest collection presented by Allison. As usual, there is a dominant colour but this year it is not simply one colour, rather, a combination of colours, something which has made Romeo Gigli famous through-out the world: orange-tinted powder pink with oxblood red. This is how the prescription models create the image of a woman who lives for her absolute intellectual identity and who is not part of the crowd which accepts, without exception, that which is defined as being "à la page". Almost all the frames are rectangular in shape, wide and flattened with simple lines and no frills. Cutting-edge class for the see-through peach pink, the melange of dark sand and amaryllis in frames made of high-tech materials and ultra lightweight polymers, but which retain a decidedly retro, almost timeless feel. The men's frames recall the intellectuals of the Sixties, with a hint of the dandy about them. The design is absolutely linear with metal unequivocally dominating. The shiny ruthenium frames are clearly defined with special endpieces, with teak grain effect, which turn up at the end. A completely new direction for the latest sunglass collection. For the polymer wrap-arounds, gun metal is set against rust with a special canvas pattern and inserted logo. The large uni*** frames look confidently towards the future and show how the Romeo Gigli eyewear collection covers several decades of fashion without losing sight of its revolutionary spirit.
