Dieter Dohr, managing director of GHM and fair director, believes that the positive response to the fair is due to a new concept that is now strongly oriented toward the optics markets: "Thanks to the fair’s compactness, all visitors were able to get a global vision of the market".
According to market research carried out by one company, almost 70% of the visitors interviewed found that Opti was a platform for good information and total market transparency, especially for frames, lenses and contact lenses, and as such, it played a very important role in their purchasing decisions. On the exhibitors’ side, they were delighted about the "good visitor turnout and quality" and they were especially pleased about "the good number of guests from north Germany", as Josef May, president of the Spectaris Association and managing director of Silhouette Deutschland, pointed out.
Werner Brunbauer, commercial director of Bausch & Lomb, Berlin, said: "For Bausch & Lomb, Opti is still an important place for business in the German market. We are extremely happy about the sales we made during the fair and we are looking forward to an equally successful Opti '09".
Sven G?tti, president of G?tti Switzerland, commented: “As suppliers of top-quality frames, we are very pleased about the response we had from the opticians at the fair. For us, it is the most important trade fair for the German market, where we can meet current partners and clients and attract new ones, mainly from Germany, Austria and Switzerland". Lastly, Robert Loibl, sales manager at Rodenstock GmbH, Munich, said: "For Rodenstock, Opti is an excellent place for presenting new products and for getting the first feedback from our clients".
