A show within a show: that’s what the Grand Gala of Mido will be. An evening event - set to take place Friday May 9th inside Pav. 12, at the Rho–Pero Fair Complex - prolongs the party with lights, colors, shapes, fashions and the many personalities who enliven Mido events each year, making this Show into a very special event.
The stage is a real screen set, in Cinecittà style where, among extras, look-alikes and actors, the real players will be the invited guests. Starting with their arrival, the guests will make their entrance, in the very best Hollywood tradition, on the red carpet, between rows of (make-believe) paparazzi and journalists, just like the stars do. Everything here “shouts” cinema: Vespas from the ’50s that recall scenes from the timeless “Roman Holiday” – it’s almost like seeing Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn speed through the streets of the Eternal City - the paparazzi and their enormous period cameras equipped with blinding flash, giant flood lights sweeping the night sky, and, of course, director’s chairs and little impromptu sets.
Between flashes going off, photo shoots and brief performances, at the beginning of the evening (around 8:30 p.m.) Mido President, Vittorio Tabacchi, will welcome guests to the event. While interaction with the public continues, guests will be invited to dine on the culinary specialties prepared especially to please even the most epicurean cinema fans. In keeping with the theme, behind the corner cafes the faces of some of the most popular movie stars associated with a particular dish will look down from improvised cardboard screens.
In a crescendo of emotions and cinematic tension, the show will begin: on stage will be Flic, a group of world-renowned artist-acrobats, in an astonishing performance that combines the ancient circus arts with touches of modern dance and theater. Without giving away all the magic of the evening’s performance, all that’s left is to say: see you this evening!
