Jimmy Choo has opened its first boutique in Rome at 68 Via Condotti. This is the luxury brand’s second store in Italy and comes after the September 2003 opening of the store at 17 Via San Pietro all’Orto in Milan.
The space in Rome – a “store-boudoir” that conjures up the architectural glamour of a Forties boutique – has footwear, handbags and leather accessories by the British fashion house, including a complete collection of sunglasses produced by Safilo Group.
“Via Condotti is one of the most important locations in the world”, commented chief executive Joshua Schulman. “Our intention”, he continued, “is to build an important local and international client base in this historical and significant capital of luxury”.
Founded by Tamara Mellon and since 2007 owned by the private equity company Towerbrook Capital Partners, the brand should have 80 single-brand stores, worldwide, by year end (see also fashionmagazine.it June 25, 2008).
